JAVIER SAEZ, NEW CHAIRMAN OF UNION FENOSA GAS
The Board of Directors of Unión Fenosa Gas (UFG) has unanimously appointed Mr. Sáez as new Chairman with immediate effect. He succeeds Mr. Egea before his upcoming retirement.
The Directors have expressed their gratitude to Mr. Egea for the outstanding services rendered to the company during his term.
Mr. Sáez joined UFG in 2010 as Executive Vice President for Gas Procurement and Operations.
About Javier Sáez
Javier Sáez Ramírez (Ferrol, 1972) is Naval Architect by education from the ETSI Navales of the Polytechnic University of Madrid and holds a Master in Ocean Systems Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
He started his professional career at the Unión Naval de Levante shipyard in Valencia. In 1997 he joined Construnaves CNE, dedicated to the commercial management and marketing of a group of Spanish shipyards.
After an academic break in the United States, he joined Enagás, where he worked in the Maritime Transport Unit, later transferring to Gas Natural Fenosa (now Naturgy) as head of the technical department in the Maritime Transport Direction. Later he headed the Business Development Unit for LNG Projects.
In 2010 he joined UFG as Executive Vice President for Gas Procurement and Operations, a position he has held until his appointment as Chairman of the Company.
